Balenciaga Vs. Dior: Overdramatic Luxury and Androgynous Sophistication at FW

Prepare to be obsessed! This season’s fashion shows delivered two unforgettable collections: Balenciaga and Dior, each pushing boundaries in their own unique way.

#Balenciaga Spring 25 Collection in #Shanghai served major drama, with a downpour transforming the runway into a wet spectacle. The collection itself was all about oversized luxury, featuring lustrous coats and dreamy handbags that seemed built to conquer the elements, not be conquered by them (unless you look at the huge, tall boots which seem as they will devour the wearer). We might have shed a tear (or two) for the delicate fabrics that were getting wet under the rain, but for others, it was a powerful statement about fashion’s resilience.

Meanwhile, across the pond in New York, #Dior took a completely different approach. Beyond the feminine dresses, their show embraced the androgynous look, with sharp tailoring and clean lines taking center stage. Think aviator chic with a modern twist, even the dresses boasting a minimalist, sophisticated feel. This collection exuded a sense of seriousness, a stark contrast to the playful drama of Balenciaga. I loved the suits with the tie, it is an accessory I have been wearing since a little kid (and almost got expelled from school because I loved dressing up as a man!)
